Overview A large coral reef of 40 acres can be found in the park as well as Iguana, which is a white sand island. The island is home to many seabirds and features many species of marine life. Two kinds of turtles migrate to Iguana every year from the polar waters. The humpbacks and the yubatas migrate to the tropical waters every year to mate.
How to get to Iguana National Park From Panama City You can travel by car from Panama City to Pedasi in 5 hours. From Padasi you take a boat to Iguana Island. You find the boat at the mouth of the river Pedasi. If 5 hours is too long for a ride then you can opt for a plane ride of about 30 minutes. Take the plane from Panama City to Chitre in the province of Herrera. From there you can drive about two hours to Pedasi.
What to do in Iguana National Park Water sports like snorkeling and diving or swimming in the crystal clear waters off the coast of the island are very popular. You can go hiking between Cirial Beach and El Faro Beach where you can find the really big Iguanas! Yes, the island was named after the giant lizards.
