Itinerary for Your Panama Canal Partial Transit Tour:
Commence your tour at 9:30 a.m. by departing from the Flamenco Resort & Marine at the Amador Causeway in Panama City. Our transportation will deliver you to the Gamboa area, where the real adventure begins. Note: Transfer will take approx. 45 minutes and it’s an optional service.
Once aboard the ship, you’ll transit the Gaillard Cut (Corte Culebra), a waterway rich in history. You’ll then cross under the Centennial Bridge (Puente Centenario) on the way to the Pedro Miguel Locks.
Upon entering the Pedro Miguel Locks, you’ll experience a drop of 9 meters—over 29 feet!—in just one step to find yourself in Miraflores Lake, the artificial waterway that connects the Pedro Miguel Locks with the Miraflores Locks.
One last set of locks—the Miraflores—connects you to the even lower elevation of the Pacific Ocean. This difference of 18 meters—almost 60 feet—will be gradually executed, though, this time in two steps!
At last, you’ll cross the vast Pacific Ocean on the way to your final landing at Amador Causeway—but not before you pass under the Bridge of the Americas (Puente de Las Americas).
At trip’s end, you’ll find yourself in the Panama Bay and at the end of one of the most unique adventures you’ll experience during your visit to this magnificent country!
